Arlington ISD – Arlington, Texas

Objective

Since the pandemic students have been through many changes in environment, routine and for some family structure. After almost two years, we can now see the effects that isolation and schedule disruption has had on students, educators, parents and the education system. Arlington ISD in Arlington, Texas sought to find a budget-friendly character development program that could be implemented across all 52 elementary campuses, with the ultimate goal of providing the highest impact to 15,289 students.

Solution

Our top priority is to help schools meet the social-emotional needs of its students through our positive youth development programs. Based on Arlington ISD’s desired program goals and outcomes, Motivational Experiences Speaker Keith Davis was without a doubt the perfect fit. His incredible story of overcoming adversity through football, education and mentors empowers students of all ages and backgrounds to say YES to BIG DREAMS and no to destructive choices.

Outcomes

After Keith’s program, students leave knowing that with effort, a focus on education and the excellence they already possess, they too can be champions! Other takeaways include:

• Students are reminded to find renewed confidence and use their unique gifts and resiliency to overcome adversity

• Students learn the importance of being well-rounded and developing their life-skills and character

The Details

Timeline: All 52 presentations are taking place January-May, 2022 at 9-12 campuses each week. Each program is approximately 45 minutes.

Topics Covered in the Programming: “P.U.S.H. for Success” – Dreaming BIG DREAMS, bullying prevention, overcoming adversity, goal setting, drug & alcohol prevention, respect for yourself and others, making right choices
